Young authors honored at University House
Corey Stone was one of more than 30 Aromas School students honored for his participation in writing the bilingual book, Kids Around the University. Written by and for grammar-school students, the book provides information about UCSC and college life in general. (Photos)

New security alarms policy
New policies are now in effect which regulate campus security alarms and give the UCSC police chief the authority to review all requests for new security alarms and modifications to existing alarms.

Partnership Act called 'crucial' to higher education
University of California President Richard C. Atkinson has called the passage of Assembly Bill 1415, the Higher Education Partnership Act of 1997, critical to the future of public higher education in the state.

UCSC hosts international conference on RNA structure
Many of the world's leading biochemists and molecular biologists will convene at UCSC this week for the first international symposium devoted to the physical blueprints of one of life's most basic molecules.
