Max Camarillo

Max Camarillo has been named director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS). He has been involved with the CPS department on campus for the past 19 years, serving students as a counseling psychologist in the colleges, running the Behavioral Health/Stress Reduction Clinic, and most recently as the interim director.

Camarillo is licensed in clinical social work and as a psychologist. His interests include health psychology as well as integrative and multicultural approaches to counseling. He is certified in clinical biofeedback and has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in multicultural counseling and developmental psychology at the University of San Francisco and UCSC, and he is certified by the California Psychological Association (CPA) to teach "Hispanic/Latino Mental Health: Theories and Practice" as part of its continuing education program for psychologists.

Marcus Cato

Marcus Cato has been appointed to the position of managing director of Shakespeare Santa Cruz (SSC) beginning September 2. He has been production manager of SSC since 1985 and has also worked for the company as an actor and as an interim managing director. Before his stint with SSC, Cato was the managing director and associate director for Tandy Beal & Company, and the community programs and technical director for Bear Republic Theater.

Shakespeare Santa Cruz launches its 20th season on July 14 with the opening of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Denzil Suite

Denzil Suite has been appointed college administrative officer for College Eight. Suite comes to the campus from the University of Southern California, where he served as assistant dean-director for the Office of Student Conduct. Suite earned his Ph.D. in policy and organization from the University of Southern California and his M.A. in higher education administration from the University of Vermont. He has over 10 years experience in higher education management.

Suite has been the recipient of the Western Association of College and University Housing Officers Diversity and Affirmative Action Award and the NASPA Region IV Outstanding New Professional Award.
