M.R.C. Greenwood inaugurated as UCSC's seventh chancellor A light rainfall on Friday, May 23, which resulted in a last-minute change of venue, did not dampen the enthusiasm of the 800 people who attended the inauguration of M.R.C. Greenwood as UCSC's seventh chancellor. In her inaugural address, the chancellor revisited UCSC's first three decades and outlined her vision for the campus's future. (More photos)

In an evening ceremony on Thursday, May 22, the campus officially dedicated the new Music Center. During the ceremony, Arts Dean Edward Houghton gives Chancellor Greenwood the baton that she would use for the first official downbeat, dedicating the new building. During the ceremony, the chancellor announced a $1 million campaign to raise money for UCSC's Music Department. (More photos)
