of M.R.C. Greenwood as UCSC's seventh
chancellor. In

outlined her vision for the campus's

Marine biologists find biodiversity flourishing in Monterey
Bay
At the base of a cliff below the Santa Cruz lighthouse, early
morning low tide finds 47 student researchers from UCSC
poking under boulders, peering into tide pools, and sifting
through surf grass to find every species inhabiting the rocky
zone between the tides.
In an evening ceremony on Thursday, May 22, the campus officially dedicated the new Music Center. During the ceremony, Arts Dean Edward Houghton gave a baton to Chancellor Greenwood that she would use for the first official downbeat, dedicating the new building.
