Kimberly Herzog was one of 140 prospective students and their families who came to the campus March 22 for Scholars Day.

At the annual event, the prospective students--who were invited to Scholars Day based on their high GPAs and SAT scores--learned about the campus's people, programs, and facilities from faculty members such as Professor Michael Warren (pictured here), administrators, staff, and UCSC students.

Faculty and staff used videotapes, posters, computer-generated images, and research projects, including a computer-programmed mouse, to give the prospective students a true impression of UCSC's research and activities, said J. Michael Thompson, associate vice chancellor for enrollment management and director of admissions. (Photos: Victor Schiffrin)
