Athanasios Kottas
Assistant Professor of Applied Math and Statistics
Athanasios Kottas's research interests include Bayesian modeling and
inference, Bayesian nonparametrics, survival analysis, semiparametric
regression modeling, spatial statistics, and categorical data analysis.
Kottas earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics from the University
of Ioannina, Greece, and a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of
Connecticut. Before joining the UCSC faculty, he was a visiting assistant
professor at Duke University.

Herbert Lee
Assistant Professor of Applied Math and Statistics
Herbert Lee's research interests include Bayesian statistics, computational
statistics, inverse problems, nonparametric regression, and neural networks.
Lee earned a B.S. in mathematics from Yale University and M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees in statistics from Carnegie Mellon University. Before coming to
UCSC he was a visiting assistant professor at Duke University.
