Re: Additional "A" parking in Social Sciences area

Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) is providing additional "A" parking in the Social Sciences area beginning November 6th. The parking will be provided along the westside of the road between McLaughlin Drive and the Social Science I circle during the construction of the College Nine Apartments.

To accommodate this temporary parking, some roadway directions have been changed. The roadway between McLaughlin Drive and the Social Sciences I circle will be one-way northbound; the service road between Social Sciences I and Social Sciences II will be one-way traveling east to west; and, the road between McLaughlin Drive and Social Sciences II will remain two-way. Parkers using the new temporary spaces will need to exit to McLaughlin using the service road between the Social Sciences buildings.

Due to the roadway direction changes, the Day East Remote Core shuttle will reverse its travel. The East Remote Core shuttle will travel north on the roadway between McLaughlin Drive and the Social Sciences I circle, travel west on the service road between Social Sciences I and Social Sciences II and exit back on to McLaughlin Drive traveling south on the Social Sciences II road. The Day East Remote Core will now serve the Social Sciences/Health Center stop on the south side of McLaughlin; it will not serve the Social Sciences/Health Center stop on the north side of McLaughlin. The Social Sciences shuttle stops will remain the same.

All users are asked to travel carefully in the area and follow the rules of the road. Vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians exiting onto McLaughlin Drive should be especially cautious.
