NOTICE

The California Public Records Act and California Information Practices Act ensure the public's right to government records, including those of the University of California, and protect the privacy of individuals, respectively. The statutes were based upon the principle that access to information concerning the conduct of the people's business is a fundamental and necessary right of every person in this state, keeping in mind the right of individuals to privacy. The Public Records Act provides for the recovery of the direct costs of duplication, when providing copies of records to individuals. Consistent with other UC campuses' and the Office of the President's practice, UCSC has implemented a charge of $.10 per page for copies of records provided in response to requests. Requests by individuals or groups to the campus for information should be directed to Leslie A. Sunell, UCSC Information Practices Coordinator, in the Chancellor's Office.
