Re: Communications Building Electrical Outage Saturday, December 27, 1997, 5am-1pm

Electrical work is being scheduled for the Communications Building on December 27, 1997, from 5am-1pm. The campus network and central services will be down for an eight hour period. Telephone and campus emergency systems will not be affected and will be fully operational.

============================================================================= During the campus closure, CATS will provide a special message phone (459-3798) for reporting problems with the campus network. Messages will be reviewed every six hours during the closure, and support staff will be on call to restore critical campus network and central server services in the event of any failures. This is NOT a help line, but is provided to report problems with campus network or central servers only.

As a reminder, the CATS Information Resource Center telephone (459-4357) will be available with prerecorded basic information during the administrative holidays. Voice and email messages left for the IRC during this period will be responded to beginning January 5, 1998.
