Re: Attendant Parking on the East Remote lot

TAPS will be instituting Attendant Parking on a six month trial basis beginning Monday, November 3rd. The intent of this program is to provide approximately 200 additional remote parking spaces in the East Remote lot thus eliminating the need to park vehicles in the dirt on the south side of the East Remote lot.

These additional spaces will be obtained by using attendants to facilitate parking in the aisles within the East Remote lot. Attendants will stack park vehicles between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. These times may be adjusted should the need arise.

TAPS believes that this is an effective temporary method of dealing with parking congestion in Remote lots while researching a more permanent solution. During the last academic year all the remote parking lots filled to capacity and we were forced to re-direct students to the Barn Theater parking lot. On Tuesdays and Thursdays and during the rain, the Barn Theater routinely filled as well, requiring students to go to the TAPS Sales Office for a pass to an alternate lot. This process is time consuming and frustrating for students. Attendant parking should eliminate the need to re-direct parkers to other lots.
