Re: Additional Parking in Science Hill

Beginning Wednesday, January 7, 1998, Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) will institute attendant-assisted parking in the Science Hill Parking Lot #114, located in front of Sinsheimer Labs. Through this program, attendants will coordinate the parking of cars in the parking lot aisles to allow more vehicles to park than could otherwise be accommodated in a strictly self-park situation. The service will provide approximately 26 additional parking spaces during the rest of the academic year to accommodate the excessive parking demand in this area.

The service will be in place January 1998 through mid-June 1998 (less spring break), and will operate Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, with an attendant on-site until 8:00 p.m. for key retrieval. These days and hours may be adjusted once the program is underway if modified services better suit the needs of parkers in the area. Parking permits will continue to be required in the attendant-assisted lot-vehicles will need to display an "A" or "B" permit to park.

For more information contact TAPS at x9-2190 or taps@cats. The TAPS Web Site has program information available under the "What's New" section on the TAPS main page: www2.ucsc.edu/taps.
