The issue of teaching assistant unionization More than 150 undergraduates marched through campus in mid-November in support of those graduate students who have asked the University of California to grant teaching assistants collective bargaining rights. On December 1, a group of TAs started picketing at the entrances to UCSC as part of a UC systemwide protest over the issue. A Web page has been created that gives UC's perspective on the subject, includes letters from UC President Richard C. Atkinson and Chancellor Greenwood, answers questions about TA unionization, and provides other related links.
