Louis Chude-Sokei
Assistant Professor of Literature
Previously an assistant professor at Bowdoin College, Louis Chude-Sokei studies African American, Caribbean, and West African literature, music, and culture. His book, The Incomprehensible Rain of Stars: Black Modernism, Black Diaspora, is forthcoming from Duke University Press. In 1997, Chude-Sokei was a distinguished lecturer at the University of the West Indies, presiding over the opening of the Bob Marley Center for Jamaican Cultural Studies. He earned a B.A. and Ph.D. in English from UCLA.
