Humanities scholar to deliver talk on religion and public life

The 1998-99 Humanities Lecture series will kick off with a talk by noted religion scholar Gary Lease. Lease, a professor of history of consciousness at UCSC, will present a talk titled "What are the humanities and why do they matter: The case of religion and public life."

Lease's talk takes place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, at the Museum of Art and History at the McPherson Center, 705 Front St. The talk is free and open to the public. A reception follows. For more information, call (831) 459-2696.
