Following the investiture ceremony, UCSC lecturer in theater arts Tandy Beal speaks with Rabbi Richard Litvak of Temple Beth El.

Rabbi Litvak presented comments and an invocation during the ceremony. His invocation drew from a traditional Hebrew prayer that appeals to all to teach their children "the imperatives of life and the lessons of history." Beal is artistic director of Tandy Beal and Company and the New Pickle Circus and a longtime friend of Murray and Sheila Baumgarten.
