UCSC people playing key role in Hubble mission
When the space shuttle Discovery blasts off this week on a mission to upgrade the Hubble Telescope, it will take with it a UCSC alumnus and a sophisticated new instrument designed by a UCSC professor.

Fulbright Award will take UCSC sociologist to the Netherlands
Professor John Brown Childs will spend part of next year at the University of Amsterdam as a recipient of the Fulbright Thomas Jefferson Chair.

Director of the UCSC Arboretum receives major horticultural award
