UC SANTA CRUZ HOSTS CONCERT OF FAVORITE OPERATIC SELECTIONS MAY 12 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SANTA CRUZ, CA--"Voices of Spring" features soprano Kathleen Nitz and tenor Joseph Meyers in a program of favorite operatic arias and duets by Puccini, Bernstein, Mozart, and Verdi. The concert takes place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, at the University of California, Santa Cruz, in the Cowell College Dining Hall. Both Nitz and Meyers have sung extensively in the area, appearing with Opera San Jose, as well as with its Outreach Program, and with the San Francisco Opera Guild. Nitz appears regularly with New Music Works and the Santa Cruz Chamber Players. She has performed in the Santa Cruz Opera Society's Young Artists Showcase Series and with I Cantori in Carmel. Sunday's program will include popular selections from Puccini's La Bohème, Mozart's The Magic Flute, Verdi's Rigoletto, and Bernstein's West Side Story. The concert is cosponsored by UCSC's Cowell and Stevenson colleges and the Santa Cruz Opera Society, Inc.
