Celebrating Chancellor Denton's arrival
With a series of events this fall, UC Santa Cruz honored the appointment of Denice D. Denton as the campus's ninth chancellor. Instead of a formal inauguration, Chancellor Denton opted for a brief investiture, which took place on Friday, November 4. Also scheduled were a two-day academic symposium on "Achieving Excellence Through Diversity," a benefit dinner in support of students, and a number of regional events. (Video of the symposium and investiture is now available online, as are transcripts of the chancellor's inaugural address and Shirley Ann Jackson's keynote address. Audio podcasts of the first day of the symposium and the investiture ceremony are also now available.)
