Top scientists gather at UCSC to weigh future of human genome research

Scientists from around the world came together at UCSC on Friday and Saturday, August 25-26, to address research on the human genome and its implications for the future of medicine and society. Events included a scientific workshop and a public forum including a keynote speech by Francis Collins, director of the National Human Genome Project. Many of those who couldn't make it to the event in person participated by viewing a live webcast. The forum will also be shown on C-SPAN. MORE
