Climate study shows state's vulnerability to global warmingA detailed new study by UCSC researchers says global warming will mean warmer temperatures and smaller snowpacks in California, with serious adverse effects on the state's water supply. "Everybody has guessed at the effects on water resources, but now we have numbers and locations," said Lisa Sloan, an associate professor of Earth sciences and a coauthor of the study.
