Visiting U.S. senator seeks independent probe of Sept. 11Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan discussed terrorism, the Enron scandal, and funding for education during a visit to campus on Thursday. Speaking at a reception hosted by trustees of the UCSC Foundation, Levin said that Congress should create an independent "blue-ribbon panel" to look into American intelligence failures before the September 11 terrrorist attacks.
