Conference on Indian Arts and Culture starts Friday

The international conference "Sarira: Aspects of Embodiment in Indian Art and Culture" takes place this Friday through Sunday, May 14-16. The conference features panels and presentations from leading scholars from India, Europe, and the U.S.

A performance of traditional Indian arts is planned on May 14, a gourmet Indian dinner in honor of distinguished guests takes place on May 15 (advance reservations required), and a screening of Satyajit Ray's film, Target, introduced by his son Sandip Ray, takes place on May 16. Several exhibitions will also take place across campus.
