Politics professor Andrei Markovits has seen one of his major works translated for new audiences recently. His book The German Predicament: Memory and Power in the New Europe has been published in German with a preface by Joschka Fischer, Germany's federal minister of foreign affairs. A Dutch translation has also appeared, with a preface by Daniel Jonah Goldhagen, author of Hitler's Willing Executioners.
