TO THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY

Dear Colleagues:

I write to apprise you of the move-in schedule of new students and transfer students for fall quarter. This year, move-in commences with the arrival of EOP students on Wednesday, September 17. The Colleges and The Village will greet their new and transfer students between Friday, September 19, and Sunday, September 21.

The heaviest traffic and congestion times will occur on Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20. Approximately 960 students are expected to move in on Friday, and approximately 1,690 are expected to move in on Saturday.

For your information and assistance, I have attached two move-in "keys" that provide information on the move-in schedule for both days as well as planned traffic flow.

If you can take the bus, carpool, or otherwise minimize vehicular traffic on campus throughout the move-in period, youÕll make the process of moving into the residence spaces easier and more efficient. Parking will be impacted to a great degree in the Hahn and Bay Tree Bookstore parking lots--avoiding those lots will allow both the bookstore and Student Services units to serve our students in an efficient manner.

As the campus community gears up for the arrival of fall quarter, I ask that you remember how bewildering our scenic campus can be for guests and new students. Please take the extra step to offer directions or assistance to those in need. First impressions last a long, long time.

If you have questions about move-in, please feel free to contact the University Events Office at ext. 9-2826.

Cordially,

Mark Cianca
Director, University Events Office
