policy web site.
- Sick Leave (APM 710); Family and Medical Leave (APM 715); Vacation Leave (APM 730); Childbearing Leave, Parental Leave, and Active Service Modified Duties (APM 760).
Comments may be sent to Breck Caloss at ext. 3210 or at breck@cats no later than June 1.
The proposed revisions would:
- Establish a new APM 715 to recognize commitment to and compliance with federal and state regulations and to provide a simplified framework for administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA).
- Describe in APM 710 and APM 760 the relation of these policies to family and medical leave entitlement.
- Update and clarify various provisions of APM 710, APM 730, and APM 760.
- Retain provisions in APM 760 that academic appointees who do not accrue sick leave may receive up to six weeks paid childbearing leave.
- Salary Administration (APM sections 200-17a, 600-8, and 615-12) Further details of proposal can be found
online. Comments may be sent to Lori Castro at ext. 4779 or at lhcastro@cats no later than Monday, June 2.
The proposed revisions would:
- Allow the university to delay payment of promotion or merit increases when the state budget has not been adopted by July 1st of any given year. If such occurrence arose, retroactive pay would be given once the governor and legislature had given their approval of the state budget.
- Allow the university to choose between using the same cautionary language in promotion and merit notification letters as utilized in the past, OR if a state budget was not approved by August 1 of a given year, send formal notification to all affected employees.
