On May 4, UCSC professors Murray Baumgarten and Peter Kenez were invested in the Neufeld-Levin Holocaust Endowed Chair at Stevenson College. The investiture took place on Yom Hashoah, the day of remembrance for Holocaust victims observed around the world. Preceding the ceremony was a daylong conference on "Family Histories and the Holocaust" supported by the endowed chair, which Santa Cruz resident Anne Neufeld Levin established in 1995.

In the photo above, Kenez (left), professor of history, and Baumgarten, professor of English and comparative literature, are invested as co-chairs of the Neufeld-Levin Holocaust Endowed Chair.
