Over the past two weeks, several groups of local elementary and high school students have paid visits to UCSC as part of a special outreach effort sponsored in part by the Arts Division. Professors receive NEH funding to design new interdisciplinary major

A group of scholars at UCSC wants to change the tradition of teaching classical, Medieval, and Renaissance studies as separate subjects. They have received $30,000 in funding toward establishing a Pre- and Early-Modern Studies major. (Larger photo and caption)


UCSC to participate in systemwide technology conference
Chancellor Greenwood and EVC Tanner will lead a contingent of campus faculty, administrators, and staff to the conference at UCLA.

Regents explore UCSC during visit to campus

Chancellor Greenwood welcomed a group of UC Regents to the campus last week. During the visit--on Monday night and Tuesday--the Regents toured campus facilities; met with faculty, students, administrators, and staff; and enjoyed a reception at the University House. (Photos of the Regents' visit.)
