Peace Corps honors UCSC for longtime partnership

Forty-four volunteers from UCSC are currently serving in the Peace Corps and approximately 400 have served since the university's founding, prompting the organization to honor the campus last week. A discussion of space
In a message to the campus community, Chancellor Greenwood says the ongoing process for evaluating options for allocating space in the Student Center, Kerr Hall, Natural Sciences II, and College Eight is open to all members of the campus community. At the chancellor's request, the Office of Planning and Budget has also prepared additional information on the space discussions.

Four UCSC researchers earn prestigious Sloan Fellowships
Four young scientists at UCSC are among 100 recipients nationwide of 1997 fellowships from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation of New York. Each prestigious fellowship is worth $35,000 over a two-year period.

UCSC prepares to implement new off-road cycling policy
A new policy that limits off-road bicycle riding to designated areas on the UCSC campus is expected to be implemented during the upcoming spring quarter. In order to communicate the specifics of the new policy, campus officials have scheduled a public workshop for Tuesday, March 4.
