Slide collection promotes alumni artists

It's an art curator's dream: a collection of slides, available at the McHenry library, showing the work of alumni artists. "We have graduates whose work is on the artistic cutting edge," says Andrea Hesse (Porter '83), director of the Sesnon Art Gallery at Porter College. "This collection can help them get exposure."

Hesse's gallery is collaborating with the Art Board, the slide library, and the Alumni Office to establish a slide collection and database of alumni artists. The collection will track and promote the careers of UCSC graduates who have gone on to become active members of the visual arts community.

The slide library will be an excellent tool for the Art Board and for curators, particularly those putting together group shows along thematic lines. Interested artists should contact Mary Wells in the Alumni Office for a slide information form at 459-2530 (locally) or (800) 933-SLUG.
