Re: Revised Staff Human Resources Procedures and Resources

Dear Colleagues:

This message is intended for faculty and staff who are involved in staff
hiring processes.

I am pleased to announce the release of the following newly revised Staff Human Resources procedures and resources:

Filling a vacancy contains a comparison of staffing options that may be used to fill a staff vacancy and provides a high level overview of the various staffing processes, with links to associated procedures.


Recruitment procedure, non-recruitment procedure, and waiver of recruitment procedure provides an outline of the steps involved in each procedure by role (e.g., Hiring Manager, HR Service Team Representative, etc.) and includes web links to policies, forms, and other resource information, such as the reformatted Fair Hiring Guide.

The recruitment procedures are the initial product of an ongoing project to revise all Staff HR Procedures. These procedures incorporate policy updates as well as updates in roles and responsibilities to reflect the consolidated Staff HR organization. Our goal is to provide useful,
accurate and easily accessible information to assist managers, supervisors and others with their human resources responsibilities. Additional revised procedures will be released over the coming months.

We hope you will find both the Filling a Vacancy resource guide and the
