Re: Important policies
I would like to bring to your attention two very important policies and direct you to their location on the UCSC web site.
The UC Policy on Sexual Harassment and the UCSC Policy on Sexual Assault, as well as Procedures for Reports of Sexual Assault(s) and Sexual Harassment, are located at http://www2.ucsc.edu/title9-sh/. In addition, brochures in English and in Spanish about the UC Policy on Sexual Harassment and the UCSC Policy on Sexual Assault are available by contacting our Title IX/Sexual Harassment Office at (831) 459-2462 or by e-mailing Rita Walker at rew@ucsc.edu.
Newly hired or newly promoted faculty and supervisors are required to take sexual harassment training under UC policy and California law. An FAQ handout is available at the above-mentioned web site regarding the required training. Also available at the web site is an online training program about UCSC sexual harassment and sexual assault policies and procedures for any person who would like to take it.
