Re: University Library Services During Holiday Closure

Both McHenry and the Science & Engineering Library will be closed during the campus holiday closure dates from 12/23/06 through 1/1/07. Please review the hours page for complete details OR call (831) 459-4000 for current library hours information.

During the closure, books may be returned to the book drop located on the northwest wall of the McHenry Library or in the book drop located at the main entrance of the Science & Engineering Library.

The Ask a Librarian service will be unavailable from 12/23/06 through 1/1/07. Queries received during the campus closure will be answered the week of 1/2/07. Instruction requests for Winter quarter placed after 12/15/06 will be answered beginning 1/2/07. The Reference Desk will be closed 12/23/06-1/1/07 and will resume regular hours on 1/2/07.

Remote access to the Licensed Databases will be available through the closure through CruzCat, Melvyl, and Off-Campus Access or a SlugLink connection. Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery requests can be
submitted during the closure but will not be processed until 1/2/07. Instructors may continue to place requests for Winter quarter reserve items, but the offices will be closed between 12/23/06 and 1/1/07.

Billing appeals may be submitted during the closure but will not be reviewed until 1/2/07. Community users and undergraduates with short-term loan privileges (3-week check-out), please note that items checked out 1-2 weeks before the closure will not be due back until 1/2/07.

Please note that all users may renew their books online.
