Re: Western Drive closing Nov. 20

The City of Santa Cruz Public Works Department has announced plans to close Western Drive to through traffic starting the morning of Monday, November 20, to repair a retaining wall. The road will be opened after work on
November 23 for the four-day Thanksgiving weekend. It will be closed again on Monday, November 27, for about a week. During the closure, the road will be open only to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The street will be closed just south of Monarch Way (the first street south of Meder Street).

A special Metro bus will carry riders from Western Drive to the campus and back while the road is closed. The bus will arrive at the Outlook Apartments at approximately 30 minutes after the hour and will be marked "Special."

A construction web page, maintained by UCSC Public Affairs, provides updated information on this and other construction projects that may affect the university community. To access that web page, please go to:

Additional information on bus schedules is available on the Metro web site
