Re: Parking Lot Changes Near Barn G
Because of construction underway near the TAPS Office that prevents car access, we are changing the way we undertake parking permit sales and permit pick ups this year. We apologize for the late notification of this decision, but after assessing the options in terms of overall traffic impacts, it was decided that the lot in front of Campus Facilities in Barn G (Lot 116) will be reserved for this purpose from tomorrow (Friday), September 16 through Friday, September 30.
Specifically, to facilitate permit renewals, faculty, staff, students and visitors purchasing parking permits at the TAPS Sales Office, will use Lot 116. This will obviously limit the parking for staff who work in the Campus Facilities vicinity, including Barn G, Barn H, and the Carriage House. For these affected staff, parking at the Barn Theater will be available, and the frequent TAPS shuttle service will serve staff traveling between the Barn Theater lot and their Campus Facilities area worksites.
In addition, a tent will be set up near lot 116 for faculty, staff and students picking up permits that have been applied for in advance.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience these arrangements may cause, and hope to be the least disruptive to operations in the lower campus and overall traffic at the base of campus during what is always a busy and challenging move-in week. We appreciate your understanding and thank you in advance for your cooperation. Also, in the event the volume of activity reduces significantly as the week progresses, we may return the lot to regular use sooner than September 30. You will be notified of any such change.
If you have any questions please contact the TAPS Office at 459-2190.
