Re: Travel Advisory--Status of Highway 17

At approximately 1 p.m. today Caltrans briefly closed Highway 17 due to snow conditions. Currently the road is open; but if it is necessary for you to travel over Highway 17 this afternoon, please allow additional time for your trip. It is also recommended that you check for road condition updates on the Caltrans web page by clicking on the link provided below.

If your travel plans this afternoon take you on roadways that exceed elevations of 1,000 feet you should allow yourself plenty of time and drive with caution as road conditions may be extremely hazardous at higher elevations.
