Re: Greeting from Chancellor Designate Denton

Dear Colleagues:

It was a genuine pleasure to meet so many of you today---thank you very much for your welcome.

In the coming months, I look forward to getting to know all of the diverse aspects of the campus community and to learning more about your accomplishments and aspirations.

As I have repeated several times, I am delighted and very excited to join you. I already know myriad examples of achievements by students, staff, faculty, and alumni, and I will be proud and honored to support your continued progress.

My first day as your chancellor will be Valentine's Day. I will return to the campus for a few meetings in the interim, and then will commence full speed on February 14.

Again, it will be a pleasure to greet you in the coming months, as I tour the departments and colleges and join a variety of campus gatherings and receptions. Until we meet again, let me wish each of you a happy holiday season - we have much to look forward to in 2005!
