Re: Death of UCSC student/employee

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the death last week of Lalo Castro, a UCSC student and employee. An undergraduate computer science student affiliated with Crown College, Lalo also worked as a programmer analyst for the University Library. He died unexpectedly at his home just before Thankgiving; he was 28.

Lalo was a young man known for his exceptional warmth, integrity, and talent--and his passing is a tragic loss.

Please join me in expressing our deepest condolences to Lalo's parents; to other family members; and to his many friends at UCSC and elsewhere.
