The UC Santa Cruz Satyajit Ray Film & Study Collection invites you to attend the 4th annual Sidhartha Maitra Memorial Lecture on Sunday, October 17, at the UCSC Music Center Recital Hall. Admission is free. The lecture is presented as part of UCSC's 40th anniversary celebration.

Sidhartha Maitra Memorial Lecture and Related Events Schedule:

Date: Sunday, October 17.
Location: On campus at the Music Center Recital Hall.

3 p.m. - Screening of "Jalsaghar" ("The Music Room"), a restoration of Satyajit Ray's 1957 film classic.

5:30 p.m. - Lecture by Dr. Nazir Jairazbhoy, known as the father of Indian ethnomusicology in the United States and a professor emeritus of UCLA.

6:30 p.m. - Thumri vocal recital, a live performance by Purnima Chaudhuri, with Uttam Chakraborty on tabla.
