Re: Call to reduce electricity usage today

PG&E has distributed the following press release today:

"The state's power grid manager has declared today a "Flex Your Power Now! Power Watch Day" as hot temperatures again blanket the state and Californians appear headed toward setting another new record in electricity usage. The California ISO tallied record usage yesterday of 45,165 megawatts--surpassing the previous record set on August 10, 2004.

"Both residential and business customers are asked to reduce usage during the peak hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Pacific Gas and Electric Company is voluntarily curtailing usage at its facilities throughout northern and central California. The utility urges its customers to take part in this call to action, and conserve electricity today."
