Administrative Message March 4, 2005 To: Campus Community From: Patt Takeuchi, Chair, Staff Advisory Board Re: Important Info. about Staff Brown Bag ForumDear Campus Community, I have received several comments concerning how questions to Chancellor Denton will be handled at our Winter Brown Bag scheduled for March 10th. Based on this input, I would like to share some additional information with you. The Staff Advisory Board sponsors several Brown Bag (BB) Forums throughout the year and usually three times out of the year, the Chancellor comes to the BB and talks to staff. Our BBs are usually during the lunch hour, and often we have a great deal of information to share. At the currently planned BB, we will be presenting a few items of interest to staff, including having Chancellor Denton speak to us. There will be time for members in the audience to directly ask the Chancellor questions. But, in order to allow staff members who do not feel comfortable asking a question directly or, in case we run out of time, we are offering 3 x 5 index cards to the audience, so that they may submit their questions. SAB has volunteered to take the cards and place the Chancellor's response later on our website. Staff members may also mail the cards to me or send me email. The use of a 3 x 5 index card is a tool the SAB has used in the past for some of our forums, and it has been quite successful when staff wanted an additional means by which to provide input.
