Re: Living wage: message from Chancellor
Dear Colleagues,
Over the summer, I asked our Staff Human Resources group to examine our staff salaries with the intent of identifying any career employees whose salary falls below $11.50/hour plus benefits, the level that is commonly seen as a living wage in our local community.
We have completed this review and now know that, of the total number of approximately 2600 employees, a little more than 2% fall below this level.
I thought you would like to know that Staff Human Resources and the Planning and Budget Office will be working to address the salaries of those few job classifications and/or employees that are currently below the living wage amount.
