Re: Stage 3 Power Emergency
The California ISO (Independent System Operator) has issued a STAGE THREE EMERGENCY
ALERT for today (Tuesday, January 16). This means that rolling blackouts may occur
later today in parts of California.
To help prevent this from happening, everyone on campus should do everything they
can to reduce electrical usage. All portable space heaters and unused equipment and
unnecessary lights should be turned off immediately. Thermostats operating electrical
heating systems (especially trailers) should be set to 68 degrees or lower.
If we all work together we may be able to keep needed lights on and our computers
operating.
According to the ISO, the Stage 3 alert will remain in effect until midnight tonight.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
