Re: Registrar's Office changes
Dear Colleagues:
September brought significant changes to the Registrar's Office. In addition to Cecilia
Rodriguez's resignation from her position as University Registrar, Elaine Wedegaertner,
Associate Registrar for Records, announced her acceptance of a position in the Benefits
Office. I am confident that with her integrity, dedication and interest in policy
analysis, Elaine will excel in her new role as a Benefit Representative. Please join
me in wishing Cecilia and Elaine success in their new endeavors.
As in any situation where there are changes in an organization's leadership, we will
take this opportunity to evaluate our structure and streamline our processes in order
to provide better service to the campus and to our students. I am pleased to announce
that Pam Hunt-Carter, Associate Registrar for Enrollment Services, has accepted the
appointment of Interim Registrar. She will lead our organizational review efforts
in the Registrar's Office.
Pam brings extensive experience in higher education administration, in addition to
her five years as a manager in the UCSC Registrar's Office. For six years she served
as Associate Registrar for Records at the University of California, Berkeley. During
her fourteen years at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, she served in various
capacities, including Director of Records and Student Information, Director of Institutional
Studies, and campus coordinator for the successful implementation of two different
student information systems. She also taught writing at the University of Alaska,
Anchorage, where she earned a Master of Arts in English. Please join me in welcoming
Pam in her new role as Interim Registrar.
Sincerely,
J. Michael Thompson, Associate Vice Chancellor
