Re: Introduction of Dr. Max Camarillo

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Max Camarillo has been named Director of Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS) at UC Santa Cruz. For the past nineteen years, Max has been involved with the CPS department here on campus, serving students as a counseling psychologist in the colleges, running the Behavioral Health/Stress Reduction Clinic, and most recently as the Interim Director.

Max is licensed in both clinical social work and as a psychologist. His interests include health psychology, as well as integrative and multicultural approaches to counseling. He is certified in clinical biofeedback and has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in multicultural counseling, and developmental psychology at University of San Francisco and UC Santa Cruz; and is California Psychological Association (CPA) certified to teach Hispanic/Latino Mental Health: Theories and Practice as part of their continuing education program for psychologists.

Please join his staff colleagues and me in welcoming Max to his new, official role as the Director of Counseling & Psychological Services.
