Re: Edward Penhoet, dean of UC Berkeley School of Public Health, to give talk

I'm pleased to report that Dr. Edward E. Penhoet, Dean of UC Berkeley's School of Public Health, has accepted my invitation to deliver a lecture at our campus. Prior to his appointment as Dean, Dr. Penhoet co-founded the biotechnology company Chiron. His distinguished career also includes teaching in the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. Dr. Penhoet's talk, "Securing Resources for Health Sciences Initiatives Without a Medical School," will be on April 12, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., in room 152 of the Jack Baskin Engineering Building. An informal reception in the lobby will follow immediately after the lecture. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Penhoet to our campus.

Sincerely,
M.R.C. Greenwood
Chancellor
