Re: 2001-02 Parking Permit and Program Renewal

This year Transportation and Parking Services encourages all UCSC Faculty and Staff to apply on-line for 2001-02 parking permits or commute programs. To receive your permit or programs, including Faculty/Staff bus passes, in a timely manner TAPS requests that you submit an on-line application by Friday, June 22nd. On-line application materials are available at www2.ucsc.edu/taps Staff and faculty without web/internet access should request an application from the TAPS Sales Office. Fax your request for printed applications to 459-1366, phone 459-4543, or email taps@cats.ucsc.edu

New parking permit options for 2001-02 include: Academic Year "A" permits, Academic Quarterly "A" permits, Academic Quarterly "A" Limited Day permits, Academic Year "R" permits, Academic Quarterly "R" permits, Quarterly Motorcycle permits and 1/2 packets of "Daily-A-Permits (Scratch-off) for employees hired less than 50% time.

Another parking program being offered for the first time is the Annual West Perimeter-Lot 127 permit. 250 permits will be available by lottery for Lot 127, formerly the West Remote lot. The lottery deadline is June 15, 2001. Permits for this lot are two-thirds the cost of an "A permit and are offered on an annual basis only.

A new vanpool is available to Live Oak commuters with an 8:00AM to 5:00PM campus schedule. For information on this new vanpool and space availability for other vanpools contact the vanpool coordinator at 459-5495 or e-mail cjward@cats.ucsc.edu

Vanpoolers, Multi-Year "A" and Multi-Year Motorcycle permit holders don't have to do anything for the upcoming 2001-2002 year! Your parking permit and vanpool status will continue to be valid and TAPS will adjust your payroll deduction fees accordingly for the new fiscal year. TAPS will automatically renew any annual programs in which you are currently enrolled, such as the bus pass program, and mail new program items to you by June 30, 2001. If you are a vanpooler, your additional programs and your free Daily-A-permits will be mailed to you by June 30, 2001. If you want to make changes to your parking and/or programs do it on-line at www2.ucsc.edu/taps or contact the TAPS Sales Office by fax at 459-1366, by phone at 459-4543, or e-mail taps@cats.ucsc.edu
