April 5, 2001 To: The Campus Community From: M.R.C. Greenwood, Chancellor Re: Campus Ombudsman to retire Campus Ombudsman Sheila Gottehrer will be retiring from her position here at UC Santa Cruz at the end of this academic year. After a long and successful professional career, including more than six productive years at our campus, Sheila has elected to focus on international and national ombudsman work and community service. We have been very fortunate to have had her with us, and we'll miss her greatly. My office is launching a recruitment for another highly qualified and conscientious individual to serve our campus community in the areas of ombudsmanship, mediation and conflict management. In the meantime, it is business as usual for our Ombudsman, who will continue to offer confidential and impartial resources to all members of the campus community. Sincerely, M.R.C.
