Re: Traffic delays on High Street
The City of Santa Cruz has informed the campus that, beginning approximately Tuesday,
September 5, the property owner's contractor will be repairing a landslide at 520
High Street. The project, which the city estimates will take 16 weeks to complete,
will result in the temporary closure of one lane in the vicinity of the project.
To facilitate traffic flow during construction, the contractor will be installing
a temporary traffic signal to allow two-way traffic. Motorists, however, can expect
traffic delays as a result of this project. I encourage faculty and staff to plan
extra time if driving through this area and to consider traveling to campus by bus,
bicycle, or carpool if possible.
If you have questions about this project, please call the city's Public Works Department
at 420-5179. Thank you.
