Re: Administrative realignments
A number of administrative changes have occurred on the campus over the course
of the past two years, as a result of the operational and planning issues related
to campus growth. These changes include expanding to full time the positions of Deans
of Undergraduate and Graduate Education and Vice Chancellor of Research; establishing
the position of Vice Provost for Academic Affairs; and restructuring the primary
administrative committees of the campus.
Consistent with these changes, I am announcing the following administrative realignments
within the Chancellor's and Provost's Offices.
Effective March 1, 2001, the Staff Human Resources unit will report to the Business
and Administrative Services division.
Effective March 15, 2001, the Office of Capital Planning and Space Management will
be realigned to report to the Provost's Office, through the Office of Planning and
Budget.
The Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action and Title IX Offices will remain
within the Chancellor's Office.
Academic Human Resources will remain within the Provost's Office.
With these realignments, these units will better situated organizationally to respond
to systemwide initiatives and to participate effectively in the ongoing campus long-range
planning efforts.
