Fellow genome researcher James Kent was featured in an article in the Deseret Morning News about a study in which Kent collaborated with researchers at Utah's Huntsman Cancer Institute. . . . The Mexican media, including La Jornada, El Universal, and Radio UNAM, covered a talk by Susanne Jonas of Latin American and Latino studies about the political rights of Latinos. . . . The Deseret Morning News and the Associated Press covered the news that the Davis School District in Utah is the latest to adopt a teacher mentoring program developed by the UCSC New Teacher Center. . . . Susan Schwartz, professor of Earth sciences and director of the Keck Seismology Lab, answered reporters' questions about the magnitude 6 earthquake that struck near Parkfield in September.
